I thought with my first post, I would show what makes us different from a lot of other deck builders. A great deck starts with the framework.

As you see, some can get very elaborate.

Here is a more standard deck.

We bolt all corners with 1/2 carriage bolts, dig the post holes 2 feet deep with about 6 inches of concrete in bottom before setting post, and use joist hangars on the floor joists. There are specific nails you should use for the hangars, so check with your supplier to get the right ones. We also use a 2×4 down the center to straighten out the floor joists before installing decking.
